My Granddaughter Cheyanne was 5 years old when God called her Papa to his heavenly home. Her faith in God was and is amazing.It was a few months later when I had her for a weekend. She had to have her day plannned first thing in the morning. She would wake-up and say " Well, what are we doing today?"
It was a Saturday and we went swimming, picked up a video, actually she talked me into getting two. I explained she had to have dinner, a bath and she may not have time for two movies. Anyway, I had to get gas on the way home but the Gas Station was a ways out of the way.
She said " why to we have to go into Sidney when Spelts is right here in Saanichton?" I said " because I like the one in Sidney." But Nana it's going to take too long and I won't be able to watch both movies.
So, I said ok, in my mind thinking I can do this, I can get gas from a self-serve station.
I couldn't even get the cap off and was so upset I started to cry and said " Cheyanne get in the van we'er going to Sidney for gas. She looked at me and said " You don't know how to get gas do you; Papa always got gas right?' I said yes, that's right. We proceeded to get in the van and when I turned around to make sure she was buckled up she was getting back out of the van.
She proceeded to talk to a lady.
She said " excuse me lady, could you help my Nana get gas? You see My Papa died and when to heaven and my Nana doesn't know how to get gas, because my Papa always got the gas. Well, the lady and I were crying and she said" Oh , I know how it is when you haven't been to a self-serve station. I will walk you through and you'll do fine. I got gas and thanked the lady and we got in the van and on our way home in 5mins. Cheyanne said " Nana, you did it I am so proud of you, you were so brave." I replied; no honey you were so brave, to ask the lady. She said " it was no big deal"
You have to just love the children, Yes, a little child shall lead them.
